New changes to the control panels offered in the VPS packages

Find out about the latest changes to the cPanel, Plesk, Virtualmin licenses

cPanel, Plesk...

cPanel

cPanel, one of the most widespread and used control panels in the web hosting industry will be subject to major changes changes in the licensing structure, respectively tariffs.
According to them, the price change comes as a result of adapting to the current hosting market, following the model of several control panels whose licensing structure is made according to the number of accounts / domains on the licensed server.
The novelty of cPanel pricing, however, is the taxation of each standalone hosting account after account with the number 100 on the licensed server. This will automatically lead to increased cost incurred by the provider for each hosting package in effect.
This pricing structure will come into effect in September.

At the shared server level, the transfer of the additional cost to the clients depends entirely on the hosting provider. At Hostico we will keep the prices of shared hosting packages (Personal, Business, SEO, Reseller) at the current level and we will look for solutions to avoid transferring this extra cost to customers. At the virtual server level, changing the license fee will directly affect the customers because the cost of the license is fully supported by them.

The new cPanel licensing structure sets the price of the license based on the number of hosting accounts on the server. Therefore, we will have the following types of licenses / tariffs:

Licence
Accounts
Price
cPanel Solo
1
€8.99
cPanel Admin Cloud
5
€13.99
cPanel Pro Cloud
30
€18.99
cPanel Premier Cloud
100
€33.99
cPanel Premier Cloud Bulk
100+
€33.99 + €0.20 /account

The number of accounts is the maximum number of accounts that can be created on a server. However, the number of domains that can be added to an account either as additional or parked domains is not limited. The word Cloud in the name of the license refers to the fact that the license is only available for VPS.

Plesk

In order to diversify the range of software offerings and services, in the last period we have implemented in addition to various services, the Plesk control pannel as an alternative to cPanel. The panel was implemented as an alternative for cPanel both in terms of interface and costs.
The Plesk control panel has a similar licensing structure but this refers to the number of domains that can be hosted on a server regardless of their type. The licensing structure and tariffs for the Plesk panel are:

Licence
Accounts
Price
Plesk Web Admin
10
€7.99
Plesk Web Pro
30
€10.99
Plesk Web Host
Unlimited
€18.99

Virtualmin

In the same idea as Plesk, we also announce the introduction of Virtualmin panel as an alternative to cPanel and Plesk. Virtualmin can also be obtained free, however, with limited functionalities, having only one hosting account that can be used by the user. However, the number of domains that can be hosted on this account is not limited. Virtualmin also offers paid licensing variants that do not imply limitations on the number of usable accounts and/or server statistics.
If you want to use Virtualmin without any limitation of functionality, a license can be purchased. The licensing / pricing structure is similar to the Plesk panel - limitation being applied to the number of domains that can be hosted on the server.

General

Regardless of the control panel chosen, in the case of the VPS managed by Hostico, a service that is offered free - the installation, configuration, optimization, security and updating of the control panels and related services will be performed by Hostico.
The interfaces of the panels are different, but the basic functionality is the same for each of them (adding / deleting domains, mailboxes, etc.).
If you want to change the control panel, the Hostico technical team will handle the data migration between the panels.
