Web Hosting

If you have one or more existing sites on a hosting from another company and you want to bring them to the hosting on our servers, you will have to send an email to tehnic@hostico.ro or open a ticket from the Hostico client, where to specify the following:

• - the login data of the control panel (cPanel, Plesk, Webmin, etc.) from the current hosting; alternatively, if your hosting doesn't offer a control panel, you can provide us with your FTP credentials, database access (remote, phpMyAdmin, etc.), SSH credentials, or any other credentials you have available;
• - which of the domains you want transferred. If you have other preferences about what and how it should be moved;
•  -the date/time you want us to handle the transfer (usually mutually agreed based on the request made/work already scheduled by us). If there is a high traffic of emails and/or orders on the site, it is recommended that the transfer be done at times of lower activity (at night).

How long will the transfer take? The duration of the transfer may vary depending on the amount of information to be transferred and any limitations imposed by the current hosting. My site was developed locally and is not hosted anywhere.
How can you help me with the transfer?
How can you help me with the transferYou will need to archive the site files and database and upload the created archive to hosting on our servers. The archive can be uploaded either using the File Manager in the control panel, or using FTP (the FTP login details can be found in the email with the administration details). Once the archive has been uploaded, you will need to confirm with us by email, so that we can start installing and configuring the site.

This question may concern one of the following points:

- simultaneous visitors
- unique visitors for a certain period
- total impressions for a certain period

The above numbers depend on the level of optimization of the application used and the hosting package purchased . The items exposed in Cumbersome Upload Causes are the elements that also determine the number of visitors that can be reached per owned hosting package. The more the running each item is faster the faster the resources allocated to the hosting account are released and can serve other connections/requests . Of course in some cases even if all the elements are solved, at a high number of hits you may still need a multi-resource package.

After placing the order, the Hostico team can be contacted in order to activate it for testing. The trial period is 7 days and applies to shared hosting packages only.
To test the VPS, it is necessary to pay it in the first instance, and later if you do not want to continue using it, the amount paid is canceled. 

For a full cancellation, this request must be submitted within 30 days of service activation.

Domain registration services, ssl certificates, etc. cannot be tested. Services for which we need to pay further in order to activate them.

The hosting package can be changed at any time. To switch to a lower package, we recommend contacting the technical team in order to verify that the site fits into the resources of the desired package. For steps on performing an upgrade you can refer to the Upgrade Command tutorial.

To redirect a site to the secure HTTPS version we can use the .htaccess file from the root directory of the site. These files can be edited either trough the File Manager available in the control panel or trough FTP.

Once we've opened the file, we'll add the following lines:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}

After saving the changes, the domain will be redirected to the HTTPS secured version.

If we use CMS applications (Wordpress, Prestashop, Magento, etc.), we will need to change certain settings for everything to work properly.

Each received payment is manually verified for the correct issue of the tax invoice. After that, the we will activate the services.

Depending on the ordered service, the time it takes to activate the services it may vary as follows:

• for shared hosting services time may vary between 5-15 minutes
• for VPS time may vary between 5-25 minutes
• for SSL certificates between 5-15 minutes
• for domain registration between 5-15 minutes

In order to activate the service we will probably need more customer information. Therefore the time required for activation will increase. For some domain extensions, even if the order is placed by us, it may take several days to activate. For more information go to Domains Terms.
